A warm black tea latte can carry the jam and sponge notes of a classic British dessert. This version keeps the method simple and finishes with an optional spoonful of jam.
Ingredients
- 1 black tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose black tea
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 cup dairy or plant-based milk
- Jam roly poly flavouring suitable for drinks, used according to its product guidance
- Sweetener to taste, if wanted
- Optional: whipped cream and a little raspberry or strawberry jam
Method
- Steep the tea in hot water for 3–5 minutes, then remove the bag or strain the leaves.
- Warm the milk gently without boiling. Stir in the flavouring gradually, following the product’s usage guidance, and sweeten if needed.
- Combine the tea and warm milk. Finish with a little whipped cream and jam if you want a more indulgent drink.
